Ayla Bell Reynolds – December 16, 2011 – Waterville, Maine (Kennebec County)

Alya, 18 months, was last seen at her father’s home on December 16, 2011 where she had been staying for a few weeks while her mother, Trista Reynolds, completed rehab. Her left arm was in a sling. It was reported that Ayla was last seen wearing green pajamas with polka-dots and “Daddy’s Princess” written on the front.

Those reported to being in the home on the night missing was her father, Justin DiPietro, his girlfriend, Courtney Roberts and child, and sister, Elisha DiPietro and child. The paternal grandmother was away for the night.

Police press conferences have ruled the child missing under suspicious circumstances with foul play involved. It has also been reported that blood was found in the home in the area of the father’s bedroom, downstairs. Ayla was reported to have been put to bed in a bedroom upstairs, alone, while the father, his girlfriend and child were asleep downstairs. In another bedroom upstairs was the aunt and her child. River searches and land searches have been conducted and ongoing. A reward of $30,000 was offered shortly after the disappearance of the child and was ongoing until June 30, 2012 when it was no longer offered.
